After Hurricane Harvey, a group of good Samaritans came to the rescue of dozens of good dogs. Houston resident Betty Walter found herself stranded in floodwaters in the wake of the storm. She was also sheltering 21 dogs (some of which belonged to her neighbors) and wasn’t sure how they would all get to safety. As the hurricane made landfall, a dog was spotted wandering around Sinton, Texas carrying a full bag of dog food. The German shepherd mix wasn’t a stray—he just got loose from a screen porch. “I kept yelling his name and yelling his name and he wasn’t around,” his caretaker Salvador Segovia told the Houston Chronicle. Like a pet version of Law and Order, an animal shelter in Wisconsin is trying to settle a case involving a suspicious doggo and his stuffed animal companion.
